Our New Faces

After long term Savannahlander team member Rob moved on last year to work for Pacific National, we’ve had our work cut out for us filling his size 14 shoes.  In fact our growing team here in Cairns has two new faces to introduce this year.

Hamish Withington

Hamish comes to us from our friends down the road in Townsville and joins us here at CKS predominately as a driver but Mike is also very excited to utilise his skills in administration as well.  Hamish has extensive experience in not only the rail transportation industry but as a coach driver running his own company and escorting tours around Australia.

When he’s not driving things, Hamish can usually be found enjoying refreshing beverages, singing his favourite songs at any number of Cairns karaoke venues, playing at muddies with his boy Charlie or continuing his light aircraft qualifications. I’m sure Hamish will be a well liked and valuable member of the Savannahlander team.

Anthony Cooper

Anthony’s background is in the armed forces, mostly involved with the RAAF as a fitter, maybe we can expect ejector seats installed in the rail motors very soon.  During this time and after his RAAF career Anthony owned and operated bike shops which tied in beautifully with his real passion in life, cycling.  Anthony has joined the team as a Savannahlaner driver as well as general rail duties in and around Cairns.

If your lucky enough to be on one of Anthony’s  Savannahlander tours prepare for four days of chatting and laughter.  In his spare time Anthony could be found enjoying time with his family or riding one of his bikes up the biggest hill you can spot.
