Full Trip… or Four Day… ?

The Savannahlander is a fairly simple little train the takes off on a potentially complicated journey each week. Complicated, if the intending passenger is not really sure of what they want to do. Quite often, we are requested to check availability for, or to book, a “Full Trip”, or perhaps a the “Full Four Day Trip”. Unfortunately, this is only about half the information we need to ensure that we provide you with the trip that you really want.  So we’ll try to explain a few of the booking hurdles we encounter and hopefully clarify the options the Savannahlander has to offer.

First thing: There are four variations of the ‘Full Trip’, or ‘Four Day Trip’. You need to know which of these options you would like to do.

Each variation has different pricing, options, and accommodation standards. Each variation is explained in some detail on our website and in our brochure. The variations are parceled up into the four packages that have proven to contain the most popular and requested itineraries. The packages are not set in stone, and once you know what each of them contain, you may choose to mix and match to suit you own needs. And sometimes, we have to offer you alternatives from the standard packages if a some of the components cannot be supplied.

The four packages are summarised below, with links to their page on our site (click the package name to go to its page):

  • Outback Odyssey: Return Trip, staying at the tour venues at each nights destination (Chillagoe, Cobbold Gorge, Undara Outback Experience). Dinner and Breakfast Included.
  • Savannah Explorer: Return Trip, staying in the towns at each days destination, but still doing the tours.  Dinner and Breakfast Included.
  • Savannah Rail Runner: The Return Trip with no included tours. Good standard Accommodation. Dinner and Breakfast Included.
  • Pub Crawl: Return Trip, staying at the outback pubs enroute. Meals are not included in this package

Everything you need to know about your trip is on the website. We have attempted to keep the site as uncluttered as possible , sometimes you just need to follow a couple of links, or menu items to get to where you need to go.
