Freshwater Coffee Run
We have had a fantastic response to our recently opened “Local Loop” and it goes to show that there is a real interest in our local community. As part of this , we would like to put on a special service to allow people to experience our historic railmotors for a few hours.
The Plan
Introducing – “The Freshwater Coffee Run“. This is a short special service that leaves from our Cairns North depot at 10am and travels over the Freshwater Bridge for a brief stop in Redlynch to reverse direction. On the way back we will stop at the Freshwater Station and disembark for a fantastic coffee and cake stop at the Barron’s Bistro before returning to our North Cairns Depot around midday.
We haven’t set a fare price yet – but we estimate an adult will be $15 and kids ride for FREE!
There will be a sausage sizzle at our depot before departure with an opportunity to look around and see our historic steam engine “3620” which is currently being restored.
Does that sound good – what next ?
We are trying to work our which day of the week to run the service – and it suddenly occurred to us that we could just ask you! So – just complete this no-fuss survey below and we can get back to you with the date and times. At this stage we are looking at a morning early in October.
